Piss on the band. I don't really care about them. There was this woman sitting in front of me. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a picture while she was leaning over the seat. And I didn't throw anything (heavy) at the two guys in blue.
Oh yeah, and there was a game or something. Steve Kragthorpe was on a mission to redeem himself after taking an Orange Bowl team and turning it into a 6-6 non-bowl team. His team managed 2 points. Surprisingly, the defense that couldn't stop anyone last year was great. The only offensive touchdown for UK was from the six yard line due to a turnover. So, UK's defense essentially provided 21 of their 27 points and two of those touchdowns came late. If you had told me that UL had only given up 3 points to UK's offense up to mid-way through the fourth quarter, I would have thought UL was kicking ass. Not down 10-2.
I got tired of the whole "unprepared" act that Kragthorpe foisted on UL fans last year. Gee, how nice to see it pop up again so quickly. I realize last year's defense was horrible so they needed the work, but why did UL's offense not need to practice in the offseason? Dropped passes. Poor routes. Running into the middle of the line even though defensive tackle Myron Pryor is killing you. I remember when Hunter Cantwell threw three touchdowns against Virginia Tech's number one ranked defense as a redshirt freshman in the 2006 Gator Bowl. I know this well because I was friggin' there (not sure when I'll get back to a bowl). Now he can only get across midfield a few times against Kentucky? WTF? What did UL's offense do all spring and summer because practice doesn't appear to have been a part of it.
But on the plus side, UL beat Tennessee Tech 51-3 (I think that was the score) in week 2. Adding the Murray State win last year, Kragthorpe has shown a great ability to beat down crappy Ohio Valley Conference teams. Too bad he can't do the same to Division I-A teams. And I'm so stupid, I'm still considering making the trip to away games in Memphis and Pittsburgh.

I was actually a member of the UL marching band one year. For a piddly little scholarship. I found out back then that for the most part UL fans are rude and annoying. We were treated with more respect and consideration by UK fans at the UK/UL football game. Which is exactly why I remain a UK fan even though I'm actually a UL alumna.
Go cats!

You may see a bowl game since the Big East sucks! I love how you gave UK virtually no credit for winning the game and bashed the offense. You sound like one of these new spoiled UK fans, Marc!
Hmmmmmm. I notice you didn't mention playing an instrument in the band. Were you a flag girl?
And Phil, "new spoiled UK fans"? Those Music City Bowls going to your head?
Im not one of those fans, thats why I said "new". I'm just happy to take what I can get
